Own a piece of DOROTHEA and help the Sea School!

In celebration of our 13 years of amazing journeys, the Sea School is offering a once-in-a-generation chance to own a piece of our history! We are replacing DOROTHEA’s old sails, and you can have a piece of them and support us in purchasing new ones.

DOROTHEA’s original sails have taken over 1,000 teenage sailors on over 7,000 miles of adventure along the Nova Scotia coast. They have carried crews to hundreds of nights anchored in the shelter of dozens of coves and inlets, listened to the inspirations and discoveries of myriad evening cockpit “candle talks”, hung quietly in the calms over millions of strokes of the oars, and caught the spray of countless waves dashing across the bow in the summer breeze. They have helped reveal the beauty of our shores, the relevance of maritime traditions and the importance of care for the environment, and they have transported and guarded our young mariners as they find the friends, the skills and the confidence to realize their true potential.

We are turning these venerable pieces of cloth into cool mementos. You can have your very own wrist band or sail piece made from DOROTHEA’s sails. The proceeds will pay for new sails and will ensure that youth in need of financial support can participate through our bursary program.

Each sail piece or bracelet is $20 each. Contact us at (902) 423-7284 or info@seaschool.org if you would like one or if you would like to donate one to a youth.

Bracelets are fastened with a snap and are available in three sizes: small (measures 6.75" in circumference when fastened), medium (7.25" when fastened), and large (8" when fastened).
