Wondering what it'd be like to come on a Sea School expedition? Looking for a fun way to spend a summer day out of the city? Come out to our free day sail and summer kick-off celebration! Meet our senior captain Richard Leckenby and assistant instructor Keegan Kerslake, as well as some Leading Crew and past participants, and come on board expedition boat Elizabeth Hall for a sail around Lunenburg harbour. A great way to be introduced to the Sea School and to have a taste of the Sea School adventure!
We will do a morning and afternoon sail. Morning sail departs at 10am (or when we have a full crew of 12), afternoon sail departs at 1pm (or when we have a full crew of 12). Our boathouse is located at 174 Bluenose Drive, Lunenburg. We will provide life jackets - bring an extra layer as it's always cooler on the water! This event is open to all ages.
Elizabeth Hall is a 30' traditional wooden sailboat; she is sturdy and very seaworthy. She ketch rigged - 3 sails (jib, main, mizzen) - and is also powered by 8 oars and strong rowers! She was built by Sea School students and volunteers and launched in 2004.
Rain date will be Saturday June 26 - check website on day of sail for any weather updates.
