Covid-19 Sea School Update - 20/04/20

A warm hello from your Sea School community!

We are thinking about all of our participants, their families and guardians, and our partners in the community as we endure the ongoing challenges of the COVID 19 health emergency.

REMEMBER THE 4 RULES! At Sea School, our team is following NS Health recommendations to stay safe, socially distance and ensure that we remember how our actions impact the most vulnerable in our communities. This has become the ultimate challenge and one that is not unlike a Sea School trip (apart from the double dipping of hummus). Let’s do our best to remember Sea School’s community standards; the 4 rules. Important to apply now more than ever!

Rule #1 - Keep the people in the Boat - take care of yourself and those around you, who isn’t in the boat right now, who needs your support?

Rule # 2 - Keep the water out of the Boat - reduce community spread, practice good hygiene, keep your emotional health positive and not allow panic to overcome you - stay in your challenge zone!

Rule # 3 - Don’t break anything - What parts of your experience need maintenance or repair, maybe this is an opportunity to bow more, or find space for outward turns, journaling and observing nature in silence. It could be an opportunity to brush up on your on-shore & indoor sailing and wilderness skills too!

Rule # 4 - Look Good! - If we are following rules 1,2 and 3, we will be looking good, and hopefully it means getting out on the water this summer!

SUMMER REGISTRATION IS OPEN: Registration will proceed as usual for the summer (July & August) season and we are not asking for payments until May 15. See our website for more information on registering and our great lineup of programs including our first Sea Kayaking expedition! We will keep you informed of any further announcements, developments, or changes in Sea School programming through our here on our website, on Facebook, and Instagram.

ONLINE LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES: Check our Facebook and Instagram for engaging youth-directed learning projects and activities. We will be posting frequently and sharing resources that shoot across our bow.
